7.  SOURCE CASE WIKI (VIEW) AND REPRESENTATION OF A VARIABLE

COMPASS contains a link from the source case summary in the main wiki (as in TP Page5) to the FrontPage of the source case wiki itself (TP Page6). From there connections can be made to pages representing the different variables and their relationships.

A formalized description for the previously mentioned case variables “Privacy Violations” (PRIVVIO) and “License Plate Cloning” (LPCLONE) can be seen in TP Page7 and TP Page8, respectively. There is one variable per webpage. A typical input would include the variable’s identification code (ID); short description; extended description (including any references); variables directly influencing and influenced by this one; and case categories (to be discussed below). A hyperlink is created for each influencing and influenced variable, which in effect allows you to navigate around the causal diagram, like that in TPP Page2.

Further information might include data, discussion, and references under the “License Plate Cloning“ (LPCLONE) influencing variable relationship about the magnitude of the number of clones and how many complaints have been received about the respective privacy violations.
